Corel plus Vista equals no.

Well, that’s what’s happened for me, anyhow. I downloaded the trial of Corel x4 to do some coursework for school, get my project finished and all that.

Install > Fine.
Starting the program > Fine
Open a file and try to edit it > the text vanishes, nothing focuses and everything goes white if I try to zoom. Honestly, what is going on? I like Vista, but there are these little niggles that are really starting to annoy me :|

  1. Vista+most programs = not working… I have had a horrible experience with vista so far. Im really upset that I can not watch dvd’s on vista basic nor can I use the software that came with my dvd player because it locks the system up… Since I have quit gaming for the most part linux maybe incoming for productivity.

  2. It’s a real pity that Windows (Microsoft) don’t do something about this, I’ve got V premium, and it’s ok, but I feel sorry for the loss of features in V Basic :|

  3. I don’t think it is really Microsoft’s fault, but rather that of the software developers. Microsoft makes pre-release versions of their OS’s available to software coders before the OS is actually released. It is the software vendors job to make a compatible version of their app. I would blame Corel (or other problematic app companies) for not having their programs ready for Vista.
