Since I replaced my old laptop (craptop), it’s been doing nothing. It got left under my bed and ignored. Faulty motherboard and stuff made it unsalable, so I just ignored it.
However, I’ve now gotten around to installing Ubuntu on it, and it works (always good), complete with it’s clamp. I’m writing this post from it now :)
Having Ubuntu means I can properly run Apache, sql, php and SVN, rather than having to use the rather weak Windows versions (apart from SVN, which is cool), and I’ll probably try to do more development work now (I just lost my excuse not to be doing it).
I’ve had Ubuntu before, and it’s good to be back on it - I missed some of the really nice features, and moreover there were some things on Vista that were really starting to piss me off :P
I have no idea how much longer this machine will last - hopefully it’ll be long enough for me to play with it, and afterwards I’ll get a crappy old machine to use instead. :)
Time to install Apache :)
