I signed up for Blog Action day today. According to their about page, Blog Action Day is:
Blog Action Day is an annual nonprofit event that aims to unite the world’s bloggers, podcasters and videocasters, to post about the same issue on the same day. Our aim is to raise awareness and trigger a global discussion.
In essence, thousands of blogs post about the same thing, on the same day - October the 15th, and create a massive discussion in their readers. The blogging community will essentially change the discussion topic on the web to poverty (this years topic), and hopefully something will be done to help them.
I plan to write about something technological, most likely - if something amazing happens between now and then, I’ll write about that, otherwise I might write about how Intel and Microsoft tried to kill the OLPC foundation (and largely succeeded), and how it’s stopped thousands of poverty-stricken children getting the cool green laptops.
October 15th is the date, make sure you come back and read my post ;)
Good for you! woop woop! (positive reinforcement.)
We’re glad to have you on board! I rather like your last post idea there. :)
