I’ve just taken asides out of my blog design totally. The idea behind that is to stop myself making crappy little posts so often, which lead me to be disappointed in my blog. Someone I knew felt the same as me, but he’s nuked his entire blog to start again. I’m not being that extreme, but as of now, my ‘asides’ will be on Twitter, and shown in the sidebar (and a digest post, maybe).
The intended effect is that my posts will start to become more interesting or at least something that I’m proud of, intead of the junk I’m posting at the moment.
I’ll see how it goes..
I agree with your decision, and I have been considering doing the same to my blog for a little while.
Thanks. I have a feeling it may decrease the frequency of my posts, from time limitations, but that’s better than frequent crappy posts, yeah?
Aww man, i love my asides, id go mad without them hehe
I thought I would too, but I’ve realised that it’s made the overall quality of my posts worse, and I’ve become very lazy, just posting asides every now and again. This forces me to make a bit of an effort with my blog, and then I’ll use Twitter for my little asides. It’s on a trial basis for a few weeks :)
- On a totally unrelated note, I LOVE the ability to reply to comments from the dashboard in WP2.7. Just love it.
I changed my mind. It seems more dead without the asides, somehow. I’ll be posting more of them in future :)
